About Me
Hey I'm Stacey Moore. I was born and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand. My family and I (hubby and two kids) have recently moved to live by the beach in Papamoa!
I've loved art for as long as I can remember and took art as a subject right through my school years. After finishing school I studied a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education and I worked as an Early Childhood Teacher for thirteen years. Over the years I have expressed my creativity in various ways - painting, sewing, and upcycling in my spare time.
When I became a mother, time to create became more limited. I experimented with watercolour paints for a while which seemed like a good solution for my time restrictions because they allowed me to be creative while being easy to set up and clean up in between tending to my children.
Then at the end of 2021 after an eventful year with both the pandemic and family events, I felt God leading me back to my art. I came across an ad on Instagram for New Zealand artist Kate Hursthouse. I fell in love with her work and it inspired me to get back in to painting. However, before getting back to creating, I felt God prompting me to change my perspective. He challenged me to let go of my fear of failure which had often hindered my creativity in the past. I now see art as a process and outlet for my creativity. I have the freedom to express myself authentically and the work that I create reflects who I am and what I love.
Thanks for being here,
Stacey
